Gun Owners Alliance has now been in the 2nd amendment arena fighting for
your rights since 1994. We have had an Internet presence since 1995.
In our many e-mail alerts, at the very bottom of the alert (like this one),
we have added, "Can you help with our expenses? Help Support the work of
Gun Owners Alliance!"
However, this is the first time I have actually made this the main topic
of an alert since we came on the Internet in 1995. The reason is quite simple.
We don't believe in becoming rich over gun control. And we have kept to that
promise, by working secular jobs to pay the expenses of our Internet presence,
and our endeavors to lobby various legislators. In fact, Gun Owners Alliance
has always paid at least 95% of our expenses without the help of others,
since we started in 1994.
Go to http://www.lethallaws.com/RCG/Making_money_on_gun_control___.html
Within the URL above, we read:
"Almost all organizations that 'fight' gun control have at
least one paid employee, and some have many full time, paid
employees. If 'gun control' suddenly vanished, these folks
would have to find real jobs."
Guess what folks? Gun Owners Alliance does not even have "one" full-time
or part-time paid employee. We are all volunteers who work regular jobs.
Lethallaws.com continues to say:
" Very few of the organizations asking you to open your
wallet are all volunteer, whose members only get reimbursed
for their actual, documented outlays for printing, postage,
telephone, auto use, etc."
"Gun control advocates and those who claim to fight gun
control need each other. If gun control vanished, thousands
would have to get real jobs."
Read the URL above. Gun Owners Alliance identifies with LethalLaws.com philosophy behind contributions.
The URL above continues to say:
"We think you should direction your contributions to
organizations that are, all volunteer or at least to
those organizations that actually do things to enhance
your civil right to be armed."
Frankly, our contributions are low enough that we don't even see our actual,
documented outlays for printing, postage, telephone, auto use, etc.. reimbursed,
including our Internet costs. We never have since 1994. Much of that is because
we have never sent the first e-mail appealing for funds, for nearly 10 years
now.
However, after nearly 10 years, would it not be fair for those of you who
know us well, and continue to benefit from our services, would it not be
fair to at least help out in the reimbursement of our ongoing expenses?
If you don't know us, or believe in what we do, this does not apply to you in the least.
This is not much to ask, especially when you consider the above.
It just might be another 10 years before we bring this up again.
