Dear Aaron,
With much regret, I am offering
you my resignation as webmaster for JPFO. This resignation is effective
immediately.
Leaving JPFO is not my first choice. I am glad to have been able to serve JPFO these past 9 months, and I believe our website was and is a great success. By developing an attractive and informative Internet presence, we were able to multiply JPFO's ability to send our message to the nation and the world. The website was visited at least 21,000 times over the last 4 months, and we gained 900 new members in that time. Our Internet member alert program generated strong interest in JPFO's ideas, as well as increased revenue through memberships and product sales. The website has provided quick responses to inquiries that could not be matched using conventional telephone, fax, or mail techniques.
For reasons beyond my understanding, however, you have stopped communicating with me over the last few weeks. Communication with the leaders of an organization is paramount to being an effective webmaster, let alone Director of Electronic Communications. The lack of communication will compromise the quality and integrity of the JPFO website, which I am not willing to allow. Perhaps there is another person whom you feel more comfortable in communicating with, who can replace me, and who can keep JPFO’s website on track.
I cannot operate the web site in a vacuum. Inquiries and orders will continue to come in, but, if I am no longer running the web site, I cannot and must not respond to them without authority to do so. I must hear from you telephonically as soon as possible . If I do not hear from you by 5:00 p.m. Central Time on September 1, 1998, I will interpret your silence to mean that you want the website to go off-line, and I will take it down from the server.
At some point in the future, if we can start anew with a more effective communication style, I would be pleased to resume serving as JPFO's webmaster. Until that time, I wish you and JPFO every success in destroying "gun control."
Sincerely,
Chris W. Stark
If Aaron continues to alienate his strongest supporters by refusing to communicate with them, then JPFO is doomed to fail. It is very sad that Aaron Zelman cannot bring himself to talk to us. I find this to be very hard to understand. Am I asking too much from Aaron? I only want to talk to him by phone!
I have been a member of JPFO, Inc. since 1993. I spent 15-20 hours per week for the last 9 months (and I held down a full-time job besides) laboring for the cause of JPFO as webmaster. Two weekends per month for the last 2 years, I spread the word about JPFO at gun shows by renting a table at my own expense and giving away JPFO brochures, JPFO books & booklets, JPFO baseball caps, and JPFO posters. I put my heart into the organization to promote its message. Now, Aaron harshly treats me like this?
Should not Aaron Zelman, be
willing to communicate cheerfully with his backers? Should he not resolve
such problems through civilized dialogue? Are these not the characteristic
of ANY leader of ANY organization??
