"Ask the Rabbi" by R. Mermelstein

QUESTION: Dear Rabbi Mermelstein:
As a loyal listener to Dr. Laura's
advice radio program I was alarmed when in answer to an upset caller
whose Jewish husband took up hunting with his buddies, Dr. Laura (who
converted to Judism(?)) made a statement that hunting was against
Jewish law (not Kosher?). I understand that the Holy Land isn't great
hunting territory and that the early Isrealites weren't famous as
hunters but where in the Old Testament does it imply that
hunting/shooting game is wrong. I've always wondered why hunting and
therefore gun ownership is not popular among my Jewish bretheren. I am
a non-Jew but a member of your fine organization because I support your
cause. I've seen and read of too many governments gone bad. Just read
history. The words "never again" come to mind.

ANSWER: Dear Mr. Wood,
Please see http://www.gunownersalliance.com/Rabbi_0023.htm. I believe this should answer your inquiry.
