"Ask the Rabbi" by R. Mermelstein

QUESTION: Dear Rabbi
Mermelstein:
I am a Christian who is a member and supporter of RKBA, because I
know that governments have disarmed people and Christians have fallen
victim to genocide just like Jews. I know your openness to all, but I
have been asked as to why non Jews should support your efforts? Thank
you for considering this.
Very respectfully,
Thomas Paull
August 2000
ANSWER: Dear Thomas,
The first and most important
reason for people of all faiths to support Gun Owners Alliance is
because it is no secret that many Jews are prominent in attempts to
disarm Americans. They feature regularly in politics, but especially in
the media. It is of primary importance for them to see Jews and non
Jews alike link hands in defense of a right which is so basic that one
must seriously wonder why it is under attack at all.
Gun Owners Alliance is not a
bunch of red neck, paranoid Jewish gun nuts. It exists to make a very
strong statement that all Jews do not embrace the knee jerk views of
the B'nai Brith, Anti Defamation League, Dianne Feinstein, Charlie
Schumer, or anyone else with a Jewish sounding name.
The greater the numbers, the louder the voice.
Please do join with us to show these "enlightened" souls that their
stance is not a reflection of either Jews or persons of any other
faith.
Sincerely,
R. Mermelstein
